The Platform That Evolved
RankMyGame started in 2001 as a voting site for text-based MMOs — a place where players could rank the MUDs and browser games they loved. Over two decades, we evolved into a full community platform covering everything from indie roguelikes to AAA blockbusters. The mission never changed: rankings decided by real players, not marketing budgets.
Our Story
Launched as a "top site" for text-based MMOs. Players voted daily for their favorite MUDs and browser RPGs. The first game rankings were built entirely on player votes — a radical idea at the time.
As gaming evolved, so did we. Expanded beyond text games to cover indie titles, MMORPGs, and mainstream releases. Added reviews, guides, and community features alongside the core voting system.
A full community platform with rankings, reviews, guides, debates, forums, and developer analytics. Still powered by the same principle: every ranking is earned through real player votes, never paid placements.
Why RankMyGame?
Honest Rankings
No pay-to-rank. No sponsored placements. Every position is earned through real player votes — and has been for over 20 years.
Indie Spotlight
Small studios deserve visibility. Here, a solo dev's passion project competes on equal footing with AAA titles — just like when we ranked MUDs.
Community Driven
You decide what's good. Vote, review, discuss — the community shapes the rankings, not algorithms or editorial teams.
